We are extremely grateful for their support and hope that you will join them. There are lots of ways that you can fundraise for Scottish Mountain Rescue from setting yourself a sponsored challenge to holding an event.

Volunteers are the heart of Scottish Mountain Rescue. They couldn’t do what they do without the support from people like you.

Having always been a keen walker, I was introduced to the hills and mountains through fundraising ventures. I continued my hillwalking adventures and my first encounter with Scottish Mountain Rescue came when a very dear friend was unfortunate enough to slip whilst descending Ben Vorlich and broke her ankle.

Important: Please note that we cannot distribute donations received via Just Giving to specific requested teams as it is administratively complex to split out donations via Just Giving. How to get started

If you would like to fundraise for Scottish Mountain Rescue, please get in touch and let us know what you are planning. We can provide ideas and support and help you make your chosen fundraising a success.

If you are planning to undertake a fundraising challenge in mountain or remote terrain, please remember to consider the safety of your challenge. Please make sure that you have the necessary skills and equipment and have adequately prepared for you challenge.

If you are organising an outdoor event we recommend that you read the Scottish Outdoor Access Code guidance on outdoor events in Scotland.

We ask all fundraisers to make sure that they have considered the safety of their event and any potential risk to Scottish Mountain Rescue’s reputation. Events need to be risk-assessed to detect and mitigate any risks to all those involved. It is best practice to complete a risk assessment form to show that you have considered and managed any potential risks around your event. Guidance around how to complete a risk assessment can be found at the Health and Safety Executive.

Scottish Mountain Rescue cannot accept liability for any loss, damage or injury suffered by yourself or anyone else as a result of taking part in a fundraising event organised in aid of Scottish Mountain Rescue.
