Scottish Mountain Rescue (SMR) has released its Statistics Report of 2022.
In 2022 Scottish Mountain Rescue member teams attended 636 independent incidents (660 in 2021). The total number of separate team call outs was 843 (915 in 2020) which includes linked call outs on different days. SMR team members volunteered 29,804 hours (31,799 in 2021) to attend call outs alone – although not reaching the record breaking levels of 2021 it was another busy year for teams.
During 2022, 740 people were assisted. 5 animals were rescued.
The Statistics report covers the year 2022. This report includes data gathered from 25 civilian member teams as well as three Police Scotland Mountain Rescue Teams (MRTs) and one RAF MRT.
